Client and Pastoral Counseling/Consulting Disclosure Statement

Thank you for choosing us to walk with you.

The following information will help you understand many of the details regarding services provided through Blue Fire Legacy.

Our primary commitment is to provide you with quality, time-effective sessions. Below you will find various policies for your information. Please read through these, ask any questions you may have, initial each section, provide your electronic signature, and type your first and last name in the spaces as indicated at the bottom of the document.

We acknowledge our clients have a variety of belief systems, and while we may differ in opinion, it is not our intent to pressure you into assuming a particular belief structure. All services offered through Blue Fire Legacy will incorporate Christian beliefs and values into the sessions. By continuing services with Dallas Henslee and Mark Henslee, you are consenting to Christian counseling, pastoral in nature, which will include Judeo-Christian values, the use of Scripture, and prayer in addition to other therapeutic techniques. Our methods involve active listening and discussion, problem-solving, and directed activities with solution-focused methods.

We provide spiritual counseling based in prayer, led by the Holy Spirit, in alignment with The Word of God (The Holy Bible). We teach and implement spiritual principles and weapons in the power and authority of Jesus Christ to provide emotional, spiritual, and mental freedom and healing.

How We Define Christian Counseling

First and foremost, we are Christians. Additionally, we are committed to being students of the Holy Spirit, as well as, the craft of counseling. We are committed to ongoing training and continuing education. We want to understand the discoveries of research and long to be as effective as possible with our clients. Each of our clinicians have committed their lives to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. We believe He was fully God and fully man, lived a sinless life and became a substitute for each of us on the cross, paying the price for our sin, was raised again three days later, He continues to live, and is active in the world through the person of the Holy Spirit. We believe in the sanctity of all human life. Throughout Scripture, we find God intervening when humans blow it because of selfish endeavors. When this happens, injustice and evil prevail. Such selfish agendas create trauma in individuals, races, genders, nations and certainly the unborn. Each life has immense value to God and to us. Your life matters. Your pain matters. And, your healing, recovery and redemption matter, too.

The term "Christian Counseling" has taken on meaning that is highly subjective in nature and is therefore, prone to biased interpretation. To us, it means we see you through the lens of Christ’s unconditional love, and believe that recovery is possible beyond indefinite behavior modification and management. We understand that you have your own journey with Christ and each person needs different things at different times along the way because they were created uniquely by God. It means that although our methods are rooted in Scripture and scientific research, our treatment plans emerge from the hope in Christ as our redemption. The Holy Spirit is the ultimate healer, and we apply the principles found in Scripture. Prayer changes us and it changes things in our lives; we have the privilege and responsibility of utilizing the authority God grants us in defeating the schemes of the devil. While we will listen for destructive patterns and behaviors which need to be addressed, we will not judge, preach, condemn, criticize or accuse. This is a partnership. You will be working. This is something we do with you, not to you. We will have conversations that involve Scripture, and we will pray with you. We are always willing to stop a session and pray over a particular matter at your request.
